China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic
Products (CCCME), China Renewable Energy Society, China New Energy Chamber of
Commerce, China Renewable Energy Industries Association and China Photovoltaic
Industry Alliance jointly released, on July 27, a Joint Statement on Adopting
Price Undertaking in EU-China Solar Panels Case. The statement is as
follows:
Representatives of Chinese PV industry and the European
Commission have reached a price agreement on ChinesePV products to be exported
to EU after arduous negotiations between the two parties, which has reflected
the commitment and wishes of most Chinese PV enterprises. Under the agreement,
Chinese PV products will continue to be exported to EU, and will occupy a
reasonable market share. And China CCCME, China Renewable Energy Society, China
New Energy Chamber of Commerce, China Renewable Energy Industries Association
and ChinaPhotovoltaicIndustryAlliance welcome this agreement on behalf of
Chinese PV industry.
Chinese PV industry and EU PV industry are in
different segments in the global PV industrial chain with significant common
interests. It is a mutually beneficial andwin-win result that the two parties
have reached agreement on the trade disputes over PVimports from China, which is
not only conducive to the common development of PV industry in China and EU,
butalso fosters a sound environment for the development of China-EU bilateral
trade relations.
The PV trade friction is the largest trade dispute case
in the history of China-EU trade, and has attracted the attention of leaders
ofChina and EU. Premier Li Keqiang had communicated with European Commission
President Barroso, which has laid a sound political foundation for the two
parties to reach aprice agreement. Chinese PV industry would like to express
heartfelt thanks to leaders of the State Council,the Ministry of Commerce and
the relevant government departments to support the development of Chinese PV
industry, and thanks tothe governments and leaders, industrial organizations and
companies of EU to support to solvethe disputes through consultations.
It
is necessary for Chinese PV industry to give more emphasis on industrial
development planning and international market diversification, and also on
international and domestic market balance and coordinated development of new
technologies, materials and equipment manufacturing.
Chinese PV industry
has been working to maintain a fair international trade environment,and opposes
trade protectionism, advocatingto solve trade disputes through negotiation.
Chinese PV industrial organizations will continue to play their role in
promoting technological progress, guiding industry self-regulation, and
regulating export order, so as to make more contribution to the development of
Chinese PV industry.
